Day in Layers
About the project
The project began with a two-week data collection period in which every change in clothing layers was recorded each time the surrounding context shifted throughout the day. Each garment was translated into a countable unit, allowing the information to be organized within a consistent visual system. The final result is a poster that reveals how clothing operates as a daily adaptation to different environments, schedules, and forms of physical presence.
Each column is a day, where time flows downward through a series of concentric circles. What looks like a series of abstract targets is actually a tem- poral record of movement, vulnerability, and the daily ritual of adaptation.
