Tramelio
About the project
Tramelio is a project that explores the use of mycelium from the fungus Trametes versicolor as a material for sustainable garments. Combined with natural fibers such as jute and wool, the mycelium develops structure and flexibility, allowing the material to be shaped into functional and aesthetic textile forms.
The process also uses walnut shells as a substrate for mycelium growth—an agricultural byproduct that provides nutrients while reducing waste. By integrating natural fibers with local agricultural residues, the project proposes an approach to textile production that connects fashion, sustainability, and circular material practices.
